We take pride in the delivery of onshore and offshore marine monitoring programs, developing innovative research partnerships and robust management plans to reduce our environmental footprint.
Working alongside reputable research scientists, we invest in programs to build a wealth of data, which supports better understanding and protection of the environments where we operate.
Our programs are focused on developing responsible management approaches to protect the environment, while supporting development and meeting the expectations of the communities where work and of which we are proud to be a part.
We are committed to:
- ensuring our people are competent with the appropriate training, environmental knowledge and adequate resources to support sound environmental management
- empowering our people to identify risks and intervene to prevent environmental harm

- Ichthys Project Offshore Facility (Operation) – five-year revision EP
INPEX is preparing a five-year revision of the EP for the ongoing operation of the Ichthys offshore production facilities within production licence WA-50-L in the Browse Basin. The EP covers the continued 24/7 operation of the CPF Ichthys Explorer, FPSO Ichthys Venturer, and the connected subsea production system, along with the use of support vessels for logistics, maintenance and waste management. It also includes planned shutdown and maintenanc
e campaigns, accommodation support vessels, and updates arising from operational improvements, audits and management of change processes.
For more detailed information on the EP, please see the Ichthys Offshore Facility Operation factsheet, or by visiting the following website: Home Page - Ichthys Project EP update 2027-2031.
- Ichthys Project Gas Export Pipeline (Operation) – five-year revision EP
INPEX is preparing a five-year revision of the EP for the operation and maintenance of the Ichthys Gas Export Pipeline (GEP), which transports gas from the Ichthys Field to the LNG processing facility in Darwin, Northern Territory.
The EP covers ongoing pipeline operations, routine inspection and monitoring activities in Commonwealth waters using survey vessels, remotely operated vehicles and autonomous underwater vehicles, as well as contingency maintenance and repair works should they be required. The revised EP incorporates updates arising from operational improvements, audit findings and management of change processes implemented since the commencement of operations.

- Proposed Ichthys Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines and Subsea Production System Construction EP
INPEX is preparing a new EP to support the expansion of the Ichthys subsea production system within production licence WA-50-L. The proposed activities include the installation, tie-in, testing and commissioning of new subsea infrastructure such as umbilicals, flowlines, manifolds, spools, jumpers and associated control systems to connect future production wells to existing facilities. The EP also incorporates geophysical and geotechnical seabed surveys that will inform future subsea infrastructure installation activities, with works expected to be undertaken over a five-year period.
